so what are you guys bored or what! classic asked what I think is a pretty reasonable question. and we all know that he has a pair of A7's with 511's that he is building a home theater around. I paid a grand for my utility's plus two hundred to ship from nashville to raleigh. bax global. good people I might add. I also got a super deal on a pair of Mags for 450 locally and they are like new. I suggest the street value seems to run between a grand and fifteen hundred for a pair of A7's in most any incantation, and not toured to death! singles are usually less but people seem to think their singles are some kind of very rare bird. you might consider buying empties and then speakers and such for one and using the other for a piece of yard art or something.depends on what kind of hurry you're in. CL your area and see what turns up. there was a set in richmond not to long ago for a grand I think. good luck.

I bought the MI versions, 421 and 808/511, from Boller Electronics in Columbus for $900 a pair- several of them. That is $450 each.

There is no way the empty cabinet was $530. Convergence is just plain wrong.

Convergence are you working in Canadian dollars?

That would include import tariffs- and the fact that the Canadian dollar was worth some 25 percent less at the time.

As it was, at $430 for a complete A7-500 it was expensive enough that they were no longer stocked here in Atlanta AFAIK.

Now that you mention it, things have been a little boring around here lately. I don't think the responses here are from bordom though.

I don't consider ebay or CL to be indicative of what the street values of these speakers might be.

One day a pair sells for $1200 and the next set in similar condition might start at $500 and get zero bids.

Patients will score you the best deal and being in the right place and ready to jump will help allot.

If selling a set I'm pretty sure you'll get your best return by parting them out. On the flip side, that will probably be the most expensive way to put a pair together. Building cabinets and filling them will likely be the most expensive route.

Barring any more rain, levels should fall below there, and a falling river sweeps the flotsam into a trash snake right down the middle. I'd say Helena about mid-week would be the place to go treasure hunting.

Seriously though, sympathies for most of the flood victims. Talked to a Mo. cuz today that lost all of his 1200 acres of corn from backwaters 30 miles from the big river. 320 on the hills is all he has left. IF he can stay till next year, that flooded gumbo will yeild like it hasn't in years though.

The futures vultures have begun feeding on the flood already. Corn hit new highs today. Funny, the crops lost won't be missed anywhere till winter, after the harvest that would have been. Half of Wall St should be chopped up for sandbag fill...

personally, i think the 810 would be a great center channel, tho all he really needs is a cab and a horn..the drivers he can get grom bill. if behind the screen, the cosmetics are not as important, besides every cab has a story. from a collectors standpoint, rolling up the screen on the 810...way cool. what about the rears? 7.1 means side fills as well...
